Accommodations

Our rooms are comfortably furnished with a bed, night table, armoire, and dresser/desk. We encourage Residents and families to furnish and decorate the room with as many personal touches as possible – do you have family photos, a display cabinet for a favourite collection or a picture you want to look at time and time again? Each room has their own private bathroom with shower for your convenience.

We also offer comfortable living and dining areas that can be enjoyed for one of the many activity programs or a great meal with friends and family.

Enjoy the outdoors? Take pleasure in the covered patios and large garden areas which decorate the perimeter of the building while also serving as functional sources of fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs. These gathering places promote important social interaction and a source of life and growth

A unique aspect of the home is its children’s daycare centre. Multigenerational social interaction is supported through story-time and interactive play. New Horizons Community of Care is bridging the gap between young and old; creating opportunities for the sharing of legacies through storytelling and sharing of memories while developing respect for elders and the importance of family.

Come spend some time with us for a tour, tea or even lunch and you will quickly see what makes us special. We have a simple philosophy; we take care of Moms & Dads and Grandmas & Grandpas just as they were our own.

The home operates much like our own homes where everyone pitches in to do what is needed. Our focus of care is only a means to adding quality to one’s life. The true focus is on living and enjoying life to its fullest.

The Residents of New Horizons Community of Care continue to be active contributors to the community of Campbell River. If they can’t get out to enjoy the community we bring it to them.
Keep in mind that we don’t just admit the Resident to the home, we make them and their loved ones part of our family.
